Why do I need training?
All schools are now required to choose and implement a high quality synthetic phonics programme from September 2006. A high quality synthetic programme requires excellent training to ensure its success (Rose Report 2006). Our training will give your school a cohesive and structured approach to the teaching of literacy. Once trained, both teachers and confident teaching assistants will be able to teach Read Write Inc. (RWI) effectively.
What type of training do you provide?
There are several ways to receive our training. Please check carefully that you choose the training option most suitable for you.
Initial RWI Phonic training – for schools and teachers new to RWI phonics or RWI Fresh Start
For new schools wanting to implement RWI phonics as their ‘learn to read’ programme
For headteachers and senior managers who want to organise and deliver their own training
For:
- new staff who have joined a school already trained to teach RWI
- key staff who want a 'practice run' on the whole-school training, or who want to find out more about RWI
Advanced training- for schools and teachers already trained on RWI phonics or RWI Fresh Start
Our trainers were all experienced and successful teachers and managers of RWI before becoming trainers. Most have worked with Ruth Miskin over many years
