Writing training

"What I can say today, I can write tomorrow."

This training demonstrates how elaborate and deliberate talk inspires children to write. The trainer will explore how to teach writing by developing children’s vocabulary, building sentences orally and through role play.

Lively, creative storytelling activities will be modelled to develop children’s spoken language and awareness of character and setting.

The programme includes guidance and detailed lesson plans for each RWI Phonic fiction and some non-fiction texts. Through shared and guided writing the trainer models simple sentences, complex sentences and extended compositional writing.

Assessment and marking systems are discussed on the training.
